Boss in early part of game
Hi guys,
Sorry, I don't remember the names of the people, but there is a boss that appears early on in the game. This is soooo vague, so please follow along if you can. If you bring the treasure chest that the raiders took near Ascalon to the girl in the "town" nearby, she says "follow me" to destroy some guys. You then follow her to the bridge and there are a lot of these furry guys with bows and arrows and some of them are magic casters. There's this huge boss guy too and he casts these invisible "things" that don't seem to attack you. Can you kill that boss early on? I've tried to look up the name of all these creatures, but no one has a monsterpedia with pictures, so I can't ID them. Every time I tried shooting at him, he just walked away and cast one of those invisible things. Those invisible things are level 3 creatures of some type. Nevertheless, he went around the bend and disappeared. Is this part of the storyline? Or can I kill him? I want to say his name is Vatlaw Doomtooth, though I can't verify without a picture. Sorry, I didnt think about taking a screenshot. Additionally, I heard you can use a signet to "take" skills from them. Where do I find one of these? Thanks guys and sorry about the newbieness. =) Sincerely, MK |

That guy is a Charr, and as far as I know he always gets away in that quest. Although, I think it might be possible to get him if you can get that mesmer spell off that slows movement rate. However, this is pre-searing so you may regret it LOL Charr can be badasses when you are low level.

I don't think you can kill him at the point you are in-game, but I believe you'll get a shot at him later...
He's casting a Ranger skill called Favorable Winds -- it creates a spirit that improves bow attackes for everyone in the area. Skills can be captured from bosses using a Signet of Capture. Unfortunately, these are not available in the early portion of the game (where you currently are adventuring). Patience. Good luck. |

Cool, thanks guys. I'm glad you guys are so informed. I would be lost without it. Anyways, I guess I won't try and whoop on him then. I'm sure I could off him... =p Run and shoot... run and shoot... run and shoot... =) Thanks again.
